First establish what you are getting
A stock account, a contract for difference and a simulated trading evaluation are not equivalent alternatives. A stock represents ownership in a company; a contract for difference concerns a price change; in a simulated evaluation, the number on the screen is not necessarily money you own. Start, therefore, with the type of activity you need. Even when a brand offers several products, compare each within its own category and terms, rather than by the brand name alone.
Check the country of residence, not the interface language
Look for an official document confirming the country of residence and the relevant service. For example, Israel appears on Interactive Brokers’ list of countries from which applications may be submitted, but the list does not guarantee individual approval or access to every product. If no explicit evidence is found, the answer remains unknown. Absence from a prohibited-country list, the ability to download an app or a Hebrew translation does not replace such evidence.
Identify the party to the agreement
Before registering, record the full name of the company with which the agreement is signed, its country and the information source. Trading groups may operate different companies. A licence published for one company is not blanket authorisation for the entire group. If the company serving you is still unknown, do not copy another company’s protections, licences or compensation arrangements into the comparison card.
Also decide when not to choose
Make a short list of essential requirements: asset type, eligibility, understandable costs and the ability to clarify withdrawals or account closure. Distinguish information published by the provider, information verified through an independent source and personal testing that was actually carried out. When no candidate meets the essential requirements, “no match” is a valid answer. Do not fill the gaps with a popular brand or a marketing promise.
This information is for learning and comparison, not investment advice. Verify product details and eligibility conditions against the current source.
