FP Markets vs RoboForex: fees, accounts and software
Raw per-lot pricing versus Prime USD-turnover pricing: compare tariffs, billing timing, platform compatibility and permissions with a scoped worked example.

FP Markets vs RoboForex: the commission denominator matters
FP Markets vs RoboForex is useful precisely because an account name does not explain the entire cost. FP Markets Raw publishes forex commission per lot and per side in its international MT4/MT5 table. RoboForex Prime publishes a rate per million dollars of turnover. Define the same trade’s value under both measurement systems before comparing the figures.
FP is examined through its international offer, distinguished from Australian retail accounts. RoboForex is examined through Belize’s RoboForex Ltd. This comparison concerns documented currency products and workflows, not universal access for everyone able to read the website.
An existing MetaTrader user should start with the account and instrument specification, then evaluate round-trip costs. FP’s platform list matters if TradingView or cTrader is required, but connectivity and account conditions still need checking. Another RoboForex environment should be evaluated as a separate product rather than inheriting Prime’s tariff.
The FP Markets review and RoboForex review provide context. There is no winner without a scenario: compare the same exposure, account currency and manageable workflow. The cost worksheet needs both commission legs and the spread at the same time and size unit; otherwise a lower tariff can be confused with a cheaper round trip.
FP Markets and RoboForex accounts: keep plans separate
Names such as Raw, Prime and ECN are not a shared standard between brokers. The table connects each label to its relevant pricing and environment without ranking the provider’s terminology.
Scroll the table horizontally to read every column.
| Component | International FP Markets | RoboForex Ltd |
|---|---|---|
| Spread-based plan | Standard forex under the table | Pro in the currency-account offering |
| Commission plan examined | Raw on MT4/MT5 | Prime by USD turnover |
| Main environments | MT4, MT5, cTrader; TradingView on Raw | MT4/MT5; other access channels by account |
| Smaller-scale workflow | Order size under account specification | ProCent with cent units |
TradingView appears in FP’s global Raw table; this is not a promise that every Standard account connects. RoboForex’s ProCent and R StocksTrader are not merely alternative displays of Prime. Each needs its own specification and examined tariff.
A reader seeking itemized commission can narrow evaluation to Raw and Prime. Someone needing analytical tools or existing software may broaden the platform check while preserving the same exposure requirement. More options do not necessarily create a better process; they may add configuration and recordkeeping needed to avoid ordering in the wrong account.
FP Raw versus Prime example: lower commission can still cost more
Assume EUR/USD exposure of 100,000 euros, a hypothetical rate of USD 1.10 per euro and a USD account. Price and spread remain constant between entry and exit, with no financing, additional conversion or slippage. A pip is worth USD 10. All following spreads are selected illustrations, not provider quotes.
FP Raw commission is USD 3 per lot per side, or USD 6 per round trip. Prime’s trade value is USD 110,000 per leg. At USD 10 per million, each leg costs USD 1.10 and both total USD 2.20. That basis explains why the tariff cannot be read as a fixed amount for every EUR/USD lot.
Choose hypothetical spreads of 0.1 pips at FP and 0.5 at RoboForex. FP’s modeled cost is USD 7: USD 1 spread plus USD 6 commission. RoboForex’s is USD 7.20: USD 5 spread plus USD 2.20 commission. Lower commission did not make Prime cheaper in this selected scenario.
The USD 3.80 commission difference equals 0.38 pips. With FP’s spread at 0.1, Prime’s spread at 0.48 produces equal USD 7 costs. A Prime spread below 0.48 makes it cheaper in the model; a wider spread makes FP cheaper. This distinction between equality and advantage is arithmetic, not a forecast of future spreads.
FP Markets–RoboForex commissions and statements: compare a closed round trip
Compare a completed trade or state which charges remain unbooked. RoboForex explains that MT4-based Prime and ECN accounts collect both commission legs upfront, while MT5 splits billing between entry and exit. An opening display can therefore show a different expense without changing the round-trip tariff basis.
FP’s table publishes a per-side tariff. Do not compare it with a RoboForex commission line before establishing whether that line already includes the second side. A negative commission entry also does not represent every trading cost; financing, conversion and spread may appear elsewhere or within execution prices.
Record size and base currency, entry/exit prices, time, commission and billing currency. For Prime, add USD turnover for each leg. If prices change, the closing commission’s basis may change too. Combining several small trades into one total can conceal minimum charges or rounding applied to individual transactions.
This helps a reader using an external journal or spreadsheet identify what an imported field contains. Net profit and profit before commission are different quantities. A correct comparison can reveal genuine cost differences, but first it must rule out billing-time mistakes or counting a component twice.
FP Markets and RoboForex platforms: price is not compatibility
Platform choice should begin with required actions rather than the number of names in a menu. Do you need multiple charts, existing software, browser access or a particular order display? Once requirements are clear, establish whether the account with suitable pricing supports that environment.
FP lists MT4, MT5 and cTrader for both global-table accounts and TradingView on Raw. RoboForex describes MT4/MT5 currency accounts alongside web/mobile environments and R StocksTrader. The list does not prove that every instrument or order type appears identically in every account.
For an existing system, check version, instrument specification and position display. Do not automatically apply FP’s MT4/MT5 tariff to cTrader, or Prime’s tariff to another RoboForex environment. Even a move within one brand can change how a cost component is calculated and booked.
The MT4, MT5 and cTrader comparison expands the environment check. Practice locating an order, changing size, cancelling and reconnecting, then record which requirements were met. These are proposed operational checks, not claims that we tested convenience or measured either company’s execution speed.
FP Markets–RoboForex automation: check permission separately
Automation can make software compatibility central, but contractual permission remains separate. A reader selecting an account for EA support must establish what the company permits in the exact process: alerts, order submission, modification or strategies using an external data source.
Section 14.14 of the FP Markets Ltd Saint Lucia agreement requires express prior written consent for robots or automated data-entry systems. The EA label in an account table does not override it. If another company is the contracting party, read its agreement rather than importing the same clause.
RoboForex describes EA trading on Prime. This supports the provider’s published capability and product description, not blanket approval for every strategy or removal of other conditions. Obtain a clear answer about the account and instrument before transferring a system that submits orders without manual control.
A useful migration check records time, units, rejection messages and order state after disconnection. Costs can then be examined at the actual size. A brief profitable demo is neither a process-safety measure nor proof of live-account compatibility. Selection should explain both why software fits and which permissions have been established.
FP Markets and RoboForex products: do not copy forex fees to shares
A per-lot forex commission is not a tariff for every product. Indices, metals, shares and share CFDs can use different contract sizes and commission denominators. Even a shares menu is insufficient to establish ownership rather than a contract referencing a share price.
FP’s MT4/MT5 table contains separate share-CFD and ETF-CFD schedules. Standard’s absence of a separate forex commission therefore does not remove fees on another instrument. RoboForex’s Prime currency-turnover tariff must not automatically be applied to R StocksTrader or every listed CFD.
A useful specification includes product type, contract size, quote currency, order unit and charging method. If these differ, do not compare lot quantities or percentages without establishing common exposure. Corporate actions, dividend adjustments and holding terms can also change a share-related product’s result relative to a currency trade.
This check does not require a huge all-product table. Select one relevant instrument and document it at both providers. If the objective is actual share ownership, confirm that the plan provides it before evaluating CFDs. An accurate price for an unsuitable product does not answer the reader’s original question.
FP Markets–RoboForex financing and account costs: include time
A few dollars of round-trip commission difference do not describe the entire account-use period. Multi-day positions require financing checks; a lengthy pause requires inactivity and withdrawal checks. These are different calendars, each tied to the correct company and product.
RoboForex’s calculator explains that overnight financing is excluded. A result from an educational calculation is therefore insufficient for assessing a week-long position. Obtain the current symbol’s financing rate, direction and charged-day count rather than only entry and exit prices.
FP’s Saint Lucia agreement includes a USD 10 monthly inactivity charge after a continuous 90-day period under the clause’s definition, where funds are available. Archiving conditions and balance limits apply. This belongs to a particular agreement; it is neither a tariff for every FP entity nor a RoboForex comparative figure.
Separate required account funds, transaction charges and transfer or conversion expenses on the worksheet. A minimum deposit is not a subscription fee, and funds held as margin are not commission. This structure makes costs comparable against the intended pattern of use instead of adding figures representing different things.
FP Markets versus RoboForex risk: exposure before leverage
Selecting a leveraged-trading broker is not selecting capital preservation. Position size and price changes can affect equity far more than the difference between two commissions. Maximum leverage receives no positive score here, and a small deposit does not establish low product risk.
At FP, separate the international table from Australian retail accounts, which advertise a maximum of 1:30 with lower limits for some instruments. Australia’s protection framework belongs to that scope. Similar software and branding do not transfer it to another company’s agreement.
RoboForex describes a negative-balance policy, but that is not compensation for market losses. Company registration or complaint arrangements do not preserve account value. Identify the contracting company and product, and establish whether the reader actually requires asset ownership or investment without leveraged exposure.
FP’s Saint Lucia execution policy describes slippage affecting stops. A planned exit price cannot be presented as a certain loss limit. Examine price gaps, spread widening and order rejection. Preparing for these scenarios can reduce operational mistakes without removing trading risk.
FP Markets or RoboForex: define a requirement that can be checked
FP Markets can fit a shortlist requiring the platforms in its global table and Raw per-lot pricing. RoboForex can fit a reader examining several currency-account families or Prime’s turnover-based tariff. These are service-feature matches, without confirming eligibility or deciding who will provide better prices at every time.
For manual trading, retain specifications and normalize round-trip costs. For automation, establish compatibility and contractual permission first. For a non-currency instrument, replace the calculation unit with its correct specification. These requirements lead to different checks even when an account label remains unchanged.
The FP Standard and Raw comparison focuses on an internal provider choice. The Eightcap and RoboForex comparison examines another pair of tariffs and plans. They help refine requirements, but their figures should not be transferred to another product without an appropriate source.
Evaluation is complete only when exposure, charging method and order management are clear. An overall score is unnecessary to explain a suitable workflow choice. TradeVenn publishes comparisons rather than execution services or investment advice; the article supports reading and calculation, while financial risk remains part of the user’s decision.
