Payout rules at FTMO, FundedNext and Topstep: stages and checks

When rewards can be requested, which profits count, how caps and splits affect money received, and what changes afterward. Every figure is tied to its programme and cohort.

Rewards across three programmes: simulated profit is not available cash

Payout rules at FTMO, FundedNext and Topstep involve more than a profit-share percentage. The sequence includes evaluation where required, a subsequent account, eligibility, a request, review and payment approval. Simulated profit on screen does not establish that the entire amount is already available in a bank.

FTMO CFD and FundedNext Stellar CFD describe rewards based on simulated-account results. Topstep Combine and Express are simulated, with Live Funded Account a separate live stage. Even one provider can have other CFD or Futures products with different rules. Put the product name beside every timing, percentage and cap.

The main comparison uses FTMO 2-Step, Stellar 2-Step with the standard first-withdrawal option and standard Express for new Topstep accounts. Exceptions are separate. The FTMO versus FundedNext comparison provides CFD context; FundedNext Futures versus Topstep focuses on futures.

Evaluation profit is not necessarily the reward basis afterward. Topstep says Combine profits do not transfer into Express, whose simulated balance starts at zero. Passing also does not complete every identity or agreement requirement. Sound records separate results, eligibility, requestable money and actual receipts.

FTMO 2-Step: request timing, review and trader share

FTMO permits a reward request from day 14 after the first trade in the relevant FTMO Account under the terms. The count does not begin with challenge payment. Positions and pending orders must be closed, and account rules satisfied. Reaching the request date does not replace other eligibility conditions.

A 2-Step-origin account has an 80% base share of simulated profit, potentially 90% after meeting specified programme conditions. A 1-Step-origin account uses 90% but has its own loss and consistency requirements. One programme's highest share cannot be applied to all provider accounts.

In a hypothetical example, USD 3,000 simulated profit satisfying the rules and approved at 80% produces USD 2,400 before other applicable details. This calculation neither approves eligibility nor represents a tested result. When some profit fails programme conditions, the entire displayed figure cannot automatically be used.

FTMO describes account review followed by approval of payment details and an invoice. Those stages differ from permission to submit. Retain request confirmation and processing status, separating review from money arrival. FTMO Identity and the account agreement belong to the product process; presentation language does not establish acceptance in a particular country.

Stellar 2-Step: first rewards and checkout choices

Standard Stellar 2-Step lists the first reward after 21 days and later cycles after 14 days under programme conditions, with an 80% base share. Checkout alternatives can change timing and percentage: a three-day choice with 60%, or On-Demand with 90% under its terms. Another reward-share add-on exists. These are different orders, not default entitlements for all customers.

An eligible hypothetical USD 3,000 base at 80% produces USD 2,400. A higher headline percentage does not change the calculation for your account. Examine the option selected at purchase and the rules, including news-profit treatment and prohibited activity.

FundedNext CFD requires identity verification in Approved status to receive a reward; document submission alone is insufficient. The minimum depends on the method: below USD 20 no cycle request is available, but RiseWorks starts at USD 50 and bank transfer at USD 1,000. Methods also have caps and country conditions, and processing charges may reach 3.5% depending on provider and method. These thresholds do not establish that a method is available to your account.

Returned challenge fees form a separate line from rewards even if handled around the same action. 2-Step refunds relate to the first reward; 1-Step and Lite have different timing. Keep reward, purchase-fee refund and simulated balance separate when calculating actual money received.

Topstep Express: qualifying days and account-specific caps

Express Standard requires five days with at least USD 150 net profit and, for requests after the first, at least USD 0.01 net profit since the previous payout. Consistency requires at least three trading days with at least one trade each and a ratio of no more than 40% of cycle net profit. The request trading day is excluded from the next cycle; days and consistency profit accumulate again from the next trading day. Retained prior-cycle balance is not new consistency profit. After the first payout, the loss floor is set to zero. For payout eligibility, days lock at 16:00 CT under the payout policy; this differs from the 15:10 CT best-day history lock in Combine consistency. These are reward paths rather than Combine billing paths.

In the standard programme without a conditional cap increase, requests are limited to 50% of balance and a size-and-path cap. For 50K, Standard is capped at USD 2,000 and Consistency at USD 3,000. The generic Express table also displays higher limits for other sizes; they do not automatically apply to 50K. An offer tied to adding a Daily Loss Limit at purchase is separate.

In a hypothetical Consistency example, a USD 800 best day within USD 1,600 net profit equals 50%. Meeting 40% requires USD 2,000 total, assuming no new best day. Completing the day count alone is insufficient in that case.

From request to payment: a Topstep amount example

Assume, for arithmetic only, a new 50K Express account with USD 6,000 simulated balance and every eligibility requirement completed. Half the balance is USD 3,000. Standard's regular cap reduces the request to USD 2,000; Consistency's regular cap permits up to USD 3,000 in this example. No conditional cap increase is assumed.

At 90%, a USD 2,000 request produces USD 1,800 before charges, while USD 3,000 produces USD 2,700. If an applicable transfer method incurs the policy's USD 30 charge, a USD 2,000 request produces USD 1,770 after the split and that fee. Bank charges, conversion and taxes are excluded, and method availability needs separate checking.

Account deduction is not necessarily the money received. Subtracting a USD 2,000 request from USD 6,000 leaves USD 4,000; a USD 3,000 request leaves USD 3,000. These are simulated-account values, not cash freely withdrawable again without conditions.

Keep four lines for every programme: reviewed profit basis, approved request, split and charges. Then record the transfer actually received. A profit screenshot or request approval is not a bank receipt. This separation supports comparison without portraying a theoretical amount as an executed payment.

Terms cohorts at FTMO, Stellar and Topstep: dates change rules

Dates and programmes can change rules without changing the brand name. FTMO 1-Step accounts originating from orders on or after 12 October 2026, or merged from that date, use 50% Consistency based on cumulative closed-trade profit including losing days. Older unmerged accounts retain Best Day using profitable days. Exceeding the ratio is not itself a breach, but reward eligibility remains incomplete until the requirement is satisfied.

FundedNext's share article distinguishes Stellar 1-Step purchased or reset on or after 12 January 2026, with 80% base share, from the older 90% cohort. That does not automatically change every Stellar 2-Step account or describe Futures Flex, whose reward rules are separate.

Topstep identifies an exception for traders who joined the new dashboard before 12 January 2026: 100% of the first USD 10,000 in profits under the stated scope, followed by the regular split. This is not an entry condition for a new account. Counting legacy-dashboard profits is addressed separately.

For an account predating a change, retain the order, merger or reset date and agreement. Another user's reward screenshot can come from another cohort. The FTMO rules guide explains programme conditions; a date determining the eligibility formula is substantive.

After a reward: loss floors, qualifying days and live stages

The first Topstep Express payout permanently sets the loss floor to zero, with the remaining balance providing room above it. For repeat requests, the request trading day itself is excluded. Qualifying days and Consistency profit accumulate again from the next trading day after the request; prior-cycle balance is not new profit. Standard also requires at least USD 0.01 positive net profit since the prior payout, in addition to qualifying days.

Permitted position size can also change when the balance falls. Inspect the scaling plan and current floor before new activity. Approval does not replace managing the account after deduction. Leaving little room can turn a small retracement into a larger programme-continuation problem.

Topstep Live has separate payment conditions. The policy describes daily-request access after 30 qualifying live winning days at a USD 150 net threshold; Express days do not count toward them. In a live account, trading should pause until the request is fully processed and funds have been deducted. Do not transfer simulated-stage trading-continuation instructions into Live.

In FundedNext Futures Flex, the first payment changes the loss floor under its rules and the account concludes after the fifth reward. These are not Stellar CFD terms. FTMO likewise requires checking the next account and product-specific rule. This comparison promises neither live progression nor permanently unchanged conditions; recalculate whenever balance, stage or agreement changes.

Requesting rewards across three providers: identity, method and records

Before requesting payment, check identity, account name and transfer method against the requirements. Each programme has its own documents and process. Do not use another person's account to bypass a restriction or assume a method on a general page is available in your country. Payment acceptance is separate from purchasing a challenge.

Retain account identifier and request date, approved amount, review status and the money received. Track further required documents through the official system. Review, transfer and bank settlement are different timelines. Fast-processing descriptions are provider reports rather than payment-performance tests conducted here.

After requesting, inspect the deduction and rules for trading while processing continues. Do not size a trade from an old balance screenshot. With copying or multiple accounts, recheck the connection and specific account after stage changes or deductions instead of assuming settings remain.

The Topstep review separates programme stages. Records help reconcile request, approval and transfer and calculate actual receipts. They do not establish future approval. One payment does not promise regular rewards, so keep expense budgets independent of the next expected payment.

A useful reward comparison: conditions before headline percentages

Begin a useful comparison with the journal and objective. For infrequent trades, qualifying days can matter more than a small share difference. For profits concentrated in one day, consistency can be the request-blocking condition. For a required transfer method, availability and charges can determine whether the process fits.

Compare the same stage, size and terms cohort. Record included profit basis, eligibility date, activity days, cap, trader share, payment charges and account effects. Keep add-on, temporary-offer or legacy-user conditions separate. This avoids assembling the best advertised terms into an account that does not exist.

The evaluation cost comparison adds attempt fees and refunds. Personal cash flow should not disregard prior spending because a high percentage appears in a reward headline. Record expenses and refunds according to actual events.

The TradeVenn methodology distinguishes published terms, arithmetic illustrations and interpretation. No paid-account payout test was performed here, and eligibility, processing speed or income is not promised. Base the decision on the offered account's actual rules and the ability to follow them. Reconsider the budget before committing if an attempt depends on timely rewards financing essential expenses.
