Maker and taker in a nutshell
Most exchanges charge a different fee depending on the order type. A maker order enters the order book and waits to be filled, for example a buy limit order below the market price. A taker order executes immediately against an order already in the book, such as a market order. KCEX publishes a separate rate for each type, for both spot and futures. The fee is calculated as a percentage of the trade value or position value, so it helps to know in advance which order type you are sending.
Spot trading fees
According to the KCEX fee article, the spot maker fee is 0% and the spot taker fee is 0%. The KCEX fee calculator page puts it this way: all KCEX spot pairs have 0% maker and taker fees. In other words, according to the official pages, buying and selling on spot carries no exchange trading fee, even when the order executes immediately. Still, check the rate shown on the trading screen for the specific pair, because KCEX notes that for some pairs the rate may vary due to promotions.
Futures fees
For futures, KCEX publishes a 0% maker fee and a 0.01% taker fee. To see what this means in practice, imagine a 1,000 USDT position opened with a market order. A 0.01% taker fee on that amount is 0.1 USDT. If the same position is opened with a limit order that rests in the book and fills as a maker, the fee according to the page is 0. The calculation is based on the position value, not on the margin you posted, so with leverage the fee grows together with the position size.
Pairs with a different rate
The KCEX fee article includes an important note: rates for some trading pairs may vary because of campaigns and promotions. KCEX points to the rate displayed on each pair's trading screen as the reference. So before opening a trade on a pair you do not know, open the trading screen and check the maker and taker rates shown there. The page does not describe VIP tiers or volume-based discounts, so we do not cover them here.
Deposits
According to the KCEX deposit and withdrawal fees page, there is no fee for on-chain crypto deposits into a KCEX account. The fee calculator page repeats this with the sentence "Deposits are free". This refers to the exchange's own fee. When you send coins from another wallet or exchange, the sending side may charge its own network or withdrawal fee, which KCEX does not control. Check the cost on the sending side before the transfer, and choose a network that KCEX supports for that coin.
Withdrawals
The KCEX fee calculator page states that withdrawals have 0 fees on all supported networks. The help article on deposit and withdrawal fees explains the fee structure: an on-chain withdrawal fee, where it applies, depends on the token and the network, and it is fixed for any withdrawal amount. The same article says that withdrawals to other KCEX users carry no fee. The figure that counts is the one shown in the withdrawal window under Wallets and then Withdraw, which lists the fee and the minimum amount for each token and network. Keep in mind: crypto prices are highly volatile, and leveraged futures trading can quickly lead to losing the entire amount you put in.
