In short

The headline trading fee is only part of the bill. On Bybit you pay a trading fee on every fill, a flat withdrawal fee per network, and on perpetual contracts you also pay or receive funding every few hours. The figures below come from Bybit's Help Center, checked on 4 October 2026.

Base-tier trading fees (VIP 0)

MarketMakerTaker
Spot0.10%0.10%
Derivatives (perpetuals and futures)0.02%0.055%

A maker adds liquidity to the order book, usually with a limit order that doesn't fill straight away. A taker removes it, for example with a market order. On spot at VIP 0 the two are priced the same. On derivatives the taker rate is almost three times the maker rate, so order type matters.

How VIP tiers work

Your tier is set by either of two measures, and you only need to meet one:

  • your asset balance on Bybit, or
  • your 30-day trading volume (counted separately for spot, derivatives, options and structured products).

Bybit lists VIP 1 at a $100,000 asset balance, or $1M in 30-day spot volume, or $10M in derivatives volume. VIP 1 spot rates are 0.0675% maker and 0.08% taker. If your balance qualifies you for one tier and your volume for a higher one, you get the higher tier.

For most retail traders, VIP 0 is the tier that applies.

Deposit fees

Bybit charges nothing for on-chain crypto deposits or internal transfers between Bybit users. Fiat deposit fees depend on the currency and payment method and are shown on the deposit page before you confirm.

Withdrawal fees

The exact withdrawal fee is shown only in the withdrawal window and on the deposit and withdrawal status page, after you pick a coin and a network, so we do not publish figures here. The gap between networks of the same coin can be large, so compare the networks on offer before you choose.

Minimum withdrawal amounts also depend on coin and network. Bybit publishes them on its deposit/withdrawal status page and in the withdrawal window. Bybit occasionally runs zero-fee promotions on specific networks, so it's worth scanning every network offered before you choose. The full process is covered in our Bybit withdrawal guide.

P2P fees

On Bybit P2P there is no platform fee on ILS pairs, for takers or advertisers. Fees apply only to the currencies on Bybit's list (for example AZN, NGN, RUB, GHS and TJS, and 0.25% on USD and EUR pairs for users verified in Azerbaijan). Your payment method, such as a bank transfer or payment app, may charge its own fee.

In practice the rate the seller quotes matters far more than the fee. Paying 3.10 ILS per dollar instead of 3.05 adds about 1.6%, more than any trading fee on this page. Our Bybit P2P in ILS guide shows how to compare offers.

Buying with a card

According to Bybit's bank card FAQ:

MethodFee
Visa issued outside the EU3.05%
Mastercard issued outside the EU2.7%
EU-issued Visa/Mastercard1.1%
Apple Pay1.8% plus EUR 0.24

The minimum per transaction is $10 and the maximum $10,000. Fees also vary by currency, and the final amount is shown on the payment details page. With an Israeli card, expect your card issuer's foreign currency fee on top.

Funding rate in brief

Perpetual contracts have no expiry, so a periodic payment between longs and shorts keeps the contract price close to spot. Bybit does not keep this payment; it passes between traders.

  • On contracts with an 8-hour interval, funding settles at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 UTC.
  • Funding fee = position value x funding rate.
  • Positive rate: longs pay shorts. Negative rate: shorts pay longs.
  • Close before the funding time and you neither pay nor receive.

The current rate is shown on each contract's page and changes constantly.

Worked example: $1,000

Spot buy and sell at VIP 0:

  • Buy $1,000 of BTC: 0.10% fee = $1.
  • Sell it for $1,000 (assuming the price hasn't moved): another $1.
  • Total: $2, or 0.2% of the amount.

Withdraw USDT afterwards and add the withdrawal fee shown in the withdrawal window for the network you pick.

A $1,000 perpetual position:

  • Open and close with market orders (taker): 0.055% twice = $1.10.
  • Open and close with resting limit orders (maker): 0.02% twice = $0.40.
  • If the position is open through a funding time at 0.01%, you pay or receive another $0.10 each time.

With leverage, fees are charged on the full position size, not your margin. A $1,000 position opened with $100 at 10x pays fees on $1,000.

Quick comparison with MEXC and KCEX

ExchangeSpot maker/takerDerivatives maker/taker
Bybit (VIP 0)0.10% / 0.10%0.02% / 0.055%
MEXC0% / 0.05%0% / 0.02%
KCEX0% / 0%0% / 0.01%

On trading fees alone, MEXC and KCEX publish lower rates. Total cost also depends on withdrawal fees, liquidity (the spread you pay) and which coins each exchange lists. See them side by side in our KCEX, MEXC and Bybit comparison, or read KCEX vs Bybit and MEXC vs Bybit.

Cost downsides

  • A 0.10% spot fee at the base tier is higher than some competitors.
  • Lower fees require a large balance or volume (VIP 1 starts at a $100,000 balance).
  • Card purchases with non-EU cards cost close to 3%.
  • Withdrawal fees vary by coin and network and are shown only in the withdrawal window.

Trading crypto and derivatives carries a high level of risk, and you can lose all the money you put in.

Is there a fee for depositing crypto?

Does Bybit collect the funding fee?

No. Funding passes between long and short holders. Bybit only takes the trading fee.
